Professional Experience
Qasim works diligently in the areas of corporate and commercial law focusing on providing his clients with exceptional value. Qasim supports his clients throughout the various stages of their business, including incorporation, sale and purchase, mergers and acquisitions, and other business reorganizations. Furthermore, he drafts partnership agreements, shareholders’ and non-disclosure agreements, and assists with records maintenance, and other corporate and commercial matters to help ensure that his clients’ businesses comply with all of their legal obligations. Qasim has extensive experience in employment law and provides his business clients with practical advice to help them work with and manage their team effectively. If a dispute arises, Qasim is present to apply his litigation experience to resolve the issue on a timely and cost-effective basis.
In addition, Qasim is passionate about helping his clients achieve their long-term personal and financial goals with sound estate planning advice, including Wills, Powers of Attorney and trusts. His goal is to help his client minimize taxes and to organize their affairs.
Prior to establishing Altair Law, Qasim worked at a large national law firm in Ottawa in the areas of corporate/commercial law and civil litigation. Subsequently, he practiced civil litigation with a smaller law firm in Ottawa where he acted as counsel before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Qasim also worked at a mid-size firm where he focused on corporate and commercial law. While in law school, Qasim served as a caseworker and as the Operations Coordinator at Queen’s Legal Aid, providing legal services to low-income residents in the community.
Besides working, Qasim enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys, cooking, and travelling internationally.
